Saw some of the reports on the TV at the SIL's house. Some drivers reported less than a foot of visibility.

I sure hope all our members are OK. When it get's that foggy it become very dangerous so I try to just go get a cup of coffee or delay the trip for a while.

Got into a couple of situations like that years ago on the lower Jersey Tpk. You could see the wall of fog a short way out but it would be too late to slow down completely unless you were lucky enough to pick up a brake light... They actually installed large propellers on towers to try and reduce the fog in some places... I don't know if that ever worked or if they're still there...

Yea the fog has been intense around here lately too and I still get morons that fly by me on the thruway....they don't realize just how bad it can end...My thoughts and prayers to all involved in that accident, being on the road all day everyday I've seen it so many times.....
