When laptops get old and die, what is it that usually goes first, other than the battery?

Good deal, I had a Toshiba a while back until it got caught under a roof leak. I replaced it with an HP which I use mainly for work, and store in the storm celler incase of the worst. Other wise I use a Shuttle X desk top in the shop with a paint over sprayed keyboard, cracked crt monitor. altho a dinosaur it works fine.

I know what is in that briefcase now

My experience it is usually the power supply or the processor.

Got a battery on order, probably won't ship until Monday. I'll look into a small 'stick' and once I have the battery we'll see about getting something going on this guys. I want to try it, just to see how I like it.

The first thing to go with laptops is the owner's mind. Second thing to go is the laptop out the window. :bigrofl:

As for scoring yourself a laptop Kenny, great deal, hopefully it all works out for you.

My mobile device is my Iphone which is equipped with Tapatalk, ebay, email, and some games lol. Sad part is when I sit here using the Iphone because my laptop is acting screwy lol.

It did real well. One thing i don't like is the touchpad. No scroll on it. It's the dual type. I'll just pick up on of those small USB wireless mouse's for it,

I finally have all the drivers loaded correctly. Even found the touchpad driver so I can scroll now. This thing is working much better. Maynard, I find a mouse is easier because that's what I have used since I got my first computer. The little table I have this on isn't big enough for a mouse so I'll try out the touchpad for a while.

I hate the touchpads. I use a wireless ball mouse and I love it.

The battery is in and the 4 GB of memory. It only 'sees' 3 GB, but that's still an improvement. I have the 16 GB USB stick to store files to. I will make a DVD backup of them with the laptop. Just need the time to get it set up like I want.
