I haven't decided If I'm going to flip this tractor or I'd I'm going to keep it for garden duty. Either way it desperately needs paint. I'm already fighting the battle of the steering wheel removal. The grill pieces will be hard to clean. I keep an extra set of wheels so I can clean them still keep a rolling chassis.

Did you count how many different colors are on there? Needs paint is an understatement. LOL Best of luck with it!

I think that screen comes out. Then I would try lye based oven cleaner somewhere inconspicuous and see if it dissolves the paint (or more than the paint). Just watch leaving it on there too long as it's aluminum.

Another thing that may work is Brake Fluid. It would take a lot longer to eat the paint, but it would be gentler on the metal.

Glad you're giving the girl a little lovin'

I really have nothing to add. This tractor is in such good shape everything came apart fine. All the wiring is even good I went with metallic blue for the main color. I can't wait to get it in the sun. I need decals to. Here's a little update. I still need one more coat and all the parts need painted. I did get the wheels done.

They have decals on ebay all the time. I used them on mine, and liked them just fine, pretty good quality. Good prices too!

I think these are the ones that have been on several times. Make sure they are the right style for the tractor you have.

Engine and fenders have the first coat of paint. It looks like there have been a few engines. Did this tractor originally come with a spacer under the engine?

Those decals look good. Ive emailed the seller to see if hes got the dash decals as well. Wonder why they arnt showing up on ebay mobile search?

I like that color. Not origional but nice. It reminded me of a '54 International pickup that I brought back to life in the mid 70's. I painted it a deep dark metalic "candy apple red," it was almost maroon. It sure wasn't origional but it did catch the eye.

That is going to look good. I like that color of blue, much better than the metallic blue they had on these (my opinion). Be watching for it to go together.

Working on the electrical. How is the engine cut off? Does it ground from one of the wires in the harness on the engine? Ive got a new selenoid. Sears of course. This tractor is all original so in going with sears only parts.

Ive also go the rest of the parts painted. There are a few mildly worn out spindles and such i need to figure out how to fix. I should have it rolling with the engine installed tomorrow.
