I picked up a JD 318 last month. It came with a 54 inch blade. I just got around to putting it on tonight. It works great but I have a problem. :confuse:
On the cylinder closest to the front of the mower, the hydraulic connection (fitting) closest to the tractor hits the front frame of the tractor when you raise it all the way up. That can't be good!
I thought, what if I rotated the cylinder over so the fitting faces down? Will that work? I looked at all the pictures I could online of the same blade and tractor and they all have the fitting facing up. Is there a reason for that and would it be a bad thing if I rotated it to face down? See picture.
Question about my blade on my JD 318

from the picture, it looks like if you rotate that fitting so it is facing downward it will hit on the bracket that holds the cylinder when the blade is all the way down, basically just reversing the problem you have now
