As a member of the GTtalk Family, I submit the following oath, for as long as my membership exists:

1. I promise not to judge fellow members on thier restoration abilities, knowledge or feedback input, collection size, and the brand of tractors he or she collects.

2. I promise to give honest and accurate help as needed, but only if I have experienced the same situation first hand myself, and can reflect back to my previous mistakes, to show what I've learned.

3. I will give advice only when requested, and won't use that advice for my own self glory.

4. I will treat all of the members with respect and consider them equal, and will Thank them for any help they offer no matter how great or small.

5. I will help out my fellow members as best as I possibly can, no matter the size of the task.

6. When a member is hurt, I will hurt with him. When a member is rejoicing, I will rejoice with him. When a member needs prayer, I will pray for him.

7. I promise to teach the younger generation to the best of my abilities, and won't be bullheaded when the time is due to pass the torch.

8. I will accept any and all advice given to me, and won't take it personal if the advice isn't something that I wanted to hear. I will not hold a grudge.

9. I will trust in the advice that other members give me, and know that they are wanting to help and are looking out for my best interest.

10. I promise to support this website to the best of my ability, so that others who may not be able to support the site, can still enjoy and get as much out of it as I am.

Troy,

Thank-you for sharing. I will do my best to follow the Oath. The purpose of this forum is not to toot our own horn but to share and learn from each other. I noticed the family atmosphere here right away and that is why I continue to come back day after day.

As Rich (Lilysdad) can point out, I may have troubles following Oath #2. Here's a fine example:

I'll try harder from here on out. (unless I can needle Rich, all bets off in that respect)

Although I consent, respect and abide by all of the above, I think it had to have been provoked by something or someone. Did I miss something or pi$$ anyone off? I am not feeling guilty or anything .. it's more of a WTF

rat88,

No, you haven't done anything wrong, nor did anyone else. The only reason I felt lead to type this out, is because these ten items are phrases that I use everytime I log onto this site. I just felt that they apply not only to myself, but hopefully to others as well. With all of the Thanks that are posted, I'd say my assumption was pretty accurate. I've been wanting to post this for a while now, and finally decided to put it off no more. I was hoping you guys would enjoy it, and use it, to remind ourselves what we, the GTtalk members are all about. I've visited other sites, and personally, they just don't have the closeness or family orientation that we do here. If I offended you, or made you feel uncomfortable with it, then please accept my apologies. I wasn't meaning to upset anyone with it.
