I have a handheld digital tach that I use to set the RPMs. You may want to look into one.

I think you could have a the factory tach, cable and tach drive new for only 100$ more than the tiny tach.

Heres the part number  35260-34602. Id have to find the cable and tach drive numbers when i get a chance.

lots of research. find manuals for tractors that came with the engine you are using or one similar. kubota doesnt make it easy

The best i could find was a owners maunal for a b5100 with the Z500 ...

Look at cub diesel powered machines. A lot of parts interchange between the engines like the d600 and d722.

Kubota had the g4200 which came with the z482 and that parts manual is available somewhere. 

Grasshopper, Walker and Steiner had kubota powered machines too. Just keep searching!

The G4200 came with the 12hp Z430....I get that mixed up myself.  Not sure what the Z482 came on.....maybe the T1600?

Been busy on this project .. Belt guards the Pto and the muffler the last thing is the hood then paint on some parts
