Kawasaki is recalling may models of newer lawn units of all sizes.

Hazard: The fuel filter can leak, posing a fire hazard.

Description: This recall includes Kawasaki FH, FR, FS and FX series engines used in riding and wide area, walk-behind lawnmowers made and sold under the following brand names: Ariens, Bad Boy Mowers, Big Dog, Bob-Cat, Bush Hog, Country Clipper, Cub Cadet, Dixie Chopper, Dixon, DR Power Equipment, Encore, Exmark, Ferris, Gravely, Hustler, Husqvarna, Land Pride, SCAG, Simplicity, Snapper Pro, Tiger Corp, Toro, Worldlawn and Woods. Engines may have also have been bought separately and used in other lawn mowers. Recalled engines are 13 to 36 horsepower, air-cooled, v-twin engines. “Kawasaki” and the model number are printed on the top of all of the engines. In addition, the spec and serial numbers are printed on a label on one side of the engine.

Thanks - gonna have a look at this, my buddies SKAG did go up in flames earlier this year . I wonder if his serial numbers are in that recall....

That's a large recall. It doesn't give specifics of what the problem is other than a fuel leak. I've often thought that those plastic filters are subject to leaking if they rub against something causing a hole in the plastic casing.

I bought a new fuel filter from a parts place and I had one filter that started leaking.

Where the top half is connected to the bowl part started seperating.

Tim, thanks for posting this. Doesn't pertain to anything I have. But if others are helped with this info, all the better. I will watch my filters on all uses.

I have a brand new Kohler out in the shop that was involved in a recall like this. It's nice to know that the manufacturers are willing to accept responsibility and take care of these problems.
