I have looked forever for an MF. Not even that picky on the model I've just always wanted one. Its always too far away or way outa my price range....well I found one on CL tonight that the guy claims runs good but tractor itself needs work which is apparent in the only 2 photos he has posted. No deck, no attachments...he wants $50!!!

Congrats, you've finally got yourself a MF.
Spruce it up bit, and have some fun.

Congrats on acheiving your goal! Those little MFs are great! If the engine is totally shot, you can find a drop in at small engine warehouse for a little over $450. Granted, without a deck you may not want to pay that.

It's worth $50 just to say you own a Massey :D
Just so you know, I think the engine has been replaced. The MF8's came OEM with a 8 horse Tecumseh. (I think HM80) and they were all electric start that I've ever seen.

The 8 Hydro is a nice unit with good control.

BTW, the deck from a 7 or 8 will go right under there.

I have an 8 also. A sturdy little tractor but they are not a GT but an LT. It has had a replacement engine.Looks like it could have been a snow blower engine. The fuel tank is missing on that engine so it may never have been run. The nose piece looks repairable and from what we can see the dash console looks to be intact. It's worth more than 50$ just for those 2 parts.

I have a massey 8 also that my uncle bought new. They are great and yes, It should Have a 8HP Tecumseh HM80. A lot of parts are still available you just may have to search a bit. Jacks Small engines has a lot and Patton Acres does also. Good luck and hope you get it!!!!

Congratulations on the find, hope you get it. It would bring that much at the scrap price, heaven forbid.
