I wish you could get them with nothing but it costs way more to build one than get one ready to go.
Oh well , I'll figure it out sooner, hopefully than later ??

You can but the choice's are slim. You can go to a local store and they can build you one and they usually run in the ball park of a chain store or you can build your own but that takes a lot of time to find the deals to make it worth while.

Just keep working with it and maybe find a window's forum that can answer your questions. Before long you will be the guru of window 8. :worshippy1:

Well as soon as I can the rest of the junk in the start screen ( no more button it an entire page) I think I'll be fine. It has a bunch of crap apps I would never use.... Xbox music player? For real? Stocks flashing ? That should be linked to anti suiside adds... silly stuff like this mixed in with all the good stuff. Other than that it seems to work better, faster than xp or vista for sure.
Next thing to try is a game made for xp and see if it works he he he....

It will probably run, you may have to tell win 8 to run it as XP but I think it will run.

One of my biggest pet peeves is the garbage apps you get on a new PC. Most of the stuff you will never use and all they do is take up space on you hard drive.

So true! I spend the first moments of any new PC un-installing all of the seller's bundled software and installing what I want on the machine. Once that is done I back it up and go from there..

Years ago I ordered a Dell Laptop and I expressly told the lady taking my order that I wanted a XP pro with out any of the bundled app's just a bare bones system. When I got it, you guessed it, it was full of the crap but it did come with a disk that would allow me to just load windows so that is what I did wiped the hard drive and re-installed Windows. There were some other issues but when I contacted Dell the customer service rep said I should have asked for the windows only system. That started my dislike for Dell.

But in all fairness even with Linux, when I install a new OS (Distro) I will add and delete app's for the ones I like and change the desktop around to suit me. I just installed Mint 13 and it started out looking kind of like Win 7 but now it looks more like a Mac OSX and by the time I'm done no telling.
