Went to buy my daughter a 96 Grand Am this morning. The guy was great to talk to & mentioned my GT hobby. He perked up & asked if I might wanna buy another. He took me round to the barn & inside was a Jacobsen Chief 1000. He stopped using it 2 to 3 years ago, but been inside & engine turns free. All is there including a nice unbroken aluminum deck. He asked what it was worth to me, and I told him it wasn't worth much to me due to my having no place to put another. He said $50 would buy it, so I said "heck yes I'll give that". The pic below IS NOT the one I'm getting, but mine is in close to the same condition.
May be several days picking it up, but can't go wrong at that price. Only thing missing is the battery cover and the starter belt cover, and he may possibly have them.

I'll likely get her running/operating soon enough, but may not get much further for a long long time coming!

Neat! I like Jacs, they made MM ones and Whites and Olivers. Batt box is always gone on these. Is PIA to have to remove all the time to do work on batt and items. Gets tossed aside and forgotten. Same with belt guard. More in the way than useful. Not sure why someone doesn't make the batt covers to sell. Kinda simple thing if you have brake bender to make them. There is an instruction sticker on there top too, which would be nice to have.

That's great Daniel. You never know where the conversation will lead with someone you enjoy meeting and talking to. I'm glad you BOTH are happy.

They usually sneak up when you least expect them.
