I found this on craigslist for $30. The guy just wanted it gone so I offered $10 and here I am owning it.....lol. I don't know much about them I just fig'd even at $30 it would make a great lil project but for $10 it makes an even better one. I plan to blast and paint it this winter and make sure everything that is there is ok to start with. Checked the pulleys and sprockets and all are free moving and suprisingly don't even make any noise even with all the rust. That made me even happier so I have a couple leads on a few diff horizontal shaft engines as theyr easy to find around here........not exactly sure what model this is or rough year. Sure is cool tho in my opinion and I'm excited to get it back to life....
looks like the number
12B01 then serial # A9256??

Looks to be a Bolens Power Ho, I cant tell you what year. Likely gonna need a 6:1 reduction engine to get her back under power. Good luck with the restore.

Congrats on the New Bolens!
Its a Bolens Power-Ho and a 12B-01 would make it a 1949
The original Engine was a 2.5HP Briggs 8R6
  • Farmlife said thank you

Thank you!! I heard that it was a power-ho but like I said I'm not that knowledgeable with Bolens. The older the better far as I'm concerned so you just made my day DR........For $10....I feel great bout it.

Or, a 1950! ....The 12B was produced for two years.
