I'm not sure this is the correct forum for this, but do any of my fellow Canadian members have a good source for small engine parts (Briggs & / or Tecumseh)? I'd like to find a source where shipping & boarder crossing fees don't exceed the cost of the parts. Better still would be a Canadian source. My local small engine shop always has the same answer: "I can get it for you. It'll be here in a couple of weeks."

I get the same results as you. Wait and then wait some more. Worse yet, they've taken to doing that Canadian Tire trick where they ask completely irrelevant questions to satisfy their computer's search functions.

Same problem here. I haven't found the answer but this place looks promising http://www.c-equipment.com/
I've used OPEengines.com before for Kohler parts even though they are in the US. Had good service and prices from them. The key to dealing with the brokerage fees is to ship by USPS. The fee is nominal and sometimes small orders will come through without any GST or customs charges. Use a courier like UPS and the fees are ridiculous.

Yes, Banta is a good source. Good prices, and fast service, for Stens items.

Not, but I use to live in Owen Sound which is famous for being the town Bobby Orr does not come from. Every one I meet confuses the two Sounds.

Thanks every one for the suggestions. I will definitely give Banta a try. It has to be better than what I'm getting now.

So, I was momentarily excited to find out that Sears (USA) now ships to Canada (http://www.sears.com...catalogId=12605). Sears (Canada) refuses to put their parts list online like Sears (USA). Here, you are forced to call a 1-800 number, and we know how much fun that is.

My excitement lasted right up until I actually tried to order some parts to be delivered to Canada. Apparently Sear (USA) DOES NOT ship to Canada (http://www.searspart...mercialUI=false).

They wouldn't be just north on Napanee, by any chance? I'm less than an hour west of you.

It must be a geografical oditie because I can get pretty much anything briggs and tecumseh here in Quebec. On the other hand Its hard to get decent prices on kohler engine parts. We get 100% mark up from the states price, its indecent

I read a story once about some eskimos who drove their dog sled to an abandoned mining camp where thwere was a tractor left behind. They found that the glass fuel filter bowl was broken. They therefore carved a replacement out of wood and drove the tractor back to their village.
