Update.

Yesterday, I finally got the cast aluminum grill back from the guy who
who can weld aluminum. He fixed 2 cracks, filled in some extra unwanted holes, and
patched in a piece that had been cut away. He did good. I then cut my new .125 thick perforated
screen to fit, and secured it with stainless spring clips, sand blasted it, and primed, with zinc
chromate.

The grill gets done in yellow.

But, what to paint the screen?

Searching, I've seen some in grey, a few in black, and the pics that count, OE are in
black and white, so I can't tell. What do you guys think?

In the OE pics, I would say the grille is not black. But can't say it's yellow either. The gray looks good. Guess it depends on what you like, Will.

I'm Not sure which way to go for the grill panel.
I Think the grey would be OE but not painted just the weathered galvanised finish.
I may in the end go with yellow to match the digger I have, but as i have enough mesh to do about 6 Elfs i could try a few options to see which i prefer. I'm not keen on the black tho as it loks a bit to harsh.

Yes, that might look alright, and be more OE correct. I've primed it already, but can easily
sandblast again, and laquer spray. It would match the shift, and brake linkage rods.

If this is an original manual then it should be Yellow. ???

The Massey "Flint Grey Metallic" would look good if your going with the grey.

If some came OE in white, I think that would contrast well & matches with the hood decals.

I say a dark silver, much like the flint gray met. would look the best.

Also, I have to say... stunning fab skills that you have going on there! (and this, coming from me) The Elf is looking amazing, what great job!
