Cold today only 37F. But the sun is shining and in the last two weeks we have only had one day of rain. If we could get a couple of 60 degree days in a row, it would be about time to lower the mowing deck for another season:rocker2:. Not supposed to get out of the fourties the rest of this week. Just have to wait.

You guys down in the lower Plains have really been hot.
Today it is coming to the Badger state (WI) as well.
Predicting low to mid 90s with 100+ heat index.

You're right, Ducky. Sounds like it's going to be a hot week in the Midwest!

I already gave up on outside stuff for the day. 60% humidity zaps you pretty quick. Have an 'Excessive heat warning' until the weekend. Then it'll get HOT!

Wish something like that was around here. Even a few clouds would be nice.

Kenny
Is it that dry down there. Hope you see some moisture soon.
Corn seems to love this kind of weather. HOT - HUMID - MOISTURE.
We are starting to set cobs in the last week. Checked tonight and found a few around 6".
Still looking at the first to second week of August to have eating corn.

Glad the corn likes it. I think we have had .02" of rain this month. You can almost stick a finger between the dirt and sidewalk, shrunk back that much. Even my tomatoes aren't producing. I water them every other morning. Should have a bumper crop of cucumbers, tho. Onions died out early June.

Hate to hear that Kenny. I've been lucky so far, but have been through droughts too many times, so I know your pain.

We're in one of the worst droughts in decades, the worst I've seen since the 50's. So far I've had 41 days at 100 degrees or better. It's usually around 90 and midnight and in the high 70's in the morning. I like hot weather but we need RAIN.

This thread has been dead for a bit but it was -14 with a -50f windchill here in central Iowa today! Too cold to even work in the garage!
