I'm glad everything is working out for you and your family.  I certainly would not want your dad to go through an accident but it does look like there are some benefit's that have come out of it.

Good to see some progress going on. The truck should give good service for some time when it's finished.

Did anything ever turn up of the steering problem your dad mentioned as the cause of the accident?

No, we never found anything wrong with the truck that would have caused the accident.  I think what happened (and I think my dad would agree) is that he pulled the wheel causing the accident.  The intersection that he was puling up to is slightly oblique and you have to look back over your right shoulder to look down the road.  I think when he looked back over that direction that he pulled the wheel to the right at the same time and it made the truck go into the ditch along the side and roll over.

One of the first thing you learn in handling a motorcycle is when you go into a curve or making a tight turn turn your head in the direction you are turning and the bike will go there.  Same thing may apply here as well.

A couple more pics today.  Mom and dad were to check the progress this wednesday and found the truck is ready to roll again.  It will still need painted and the box fixed when we get it home but for now it is mechanically running again and ready to hit the road that way.  They are going to bring it home tomorrow so maybe I can get a few better shots of it when they do without the snow on it.  I am REALLY liking the looks of those straight pipes and that chrome visor over the windshield.  There are more new chrome parts to go on but they will be after the paint is done.

Glad to hear it is coming home soon. Looks pretty good, nothing a little paint won't cure!

Here's a small update for any of you that have been following along with this.  The truck was finally done with paint this morning and we picked it up this afternoon.  The new bed for it is finished at the welding shop and it will go on in about two weeks.  We have some other small things to do to it after that like get some new steps for both the driver and passenger sides, put a new bumper on the front, mount the new air ride seats, rechrome the battery box covers, polish out the fuel tank the best we can, and mount a toolbox on the pasenger side where the fuel tank on that side used to be.  We are also going to take the white steel buds off the back and put on aluminum buds and we have chrome guards for the front under the headlights to mount as well as mud flaps for behind the front tires and nut covers and chrome hubcaps for the front as well.

Wow, now that I type the list it seems longer than I thought it was.  Still though it should hopefully be together by July 4th so we can use it to take some tractors to the local parade.

Here she is sporting her new coat of IH #2150 red paint.  Hopefully next month at this  time I can have a completed pic to show.

That is looking great. From the first pictures I figured it would be considered totaled. A little polish and it will look new.
