Also check that manifold for leaks. I have seen them separate where the two have are sealed and riveted together.

These Onans a notorious for leaking manifolds along the split. That would explain the need for some choke. I've been lucky so far.


I will pull the carb/intake and inspect the 2 piece intake. Sprayed around most of it and didn't hear any change in the engine.

If you found no change when spraying along that seam, then I would say the intake is not leaking. But a visual check may show something.

Didn't spray around the flanges that mate to the block, will have to check there this evening.

Carb spray can cause an rpm increase if there's a leak, where WD40 drops the rpm.
