Hi, I'm new here so forgive me if this is not the correct place to place this question. I have been offered a trade and not sureif it isa good deal. The trade is that I get an Agway 16 hp 42" cut riding mower (year unknown) for a smashed up Durango, which is worth about $500 in scrap. Is the Agway mower worth that much? I do have pictures of the mower if needed. :help: Thank you

Welcome to GTT. Pictures and an evaluation of the condition of the tractor is needed to put a value on the tractor(as with anything). It isn't just," is it a fair deal" but, do you need the tractor? Attachments, manuals and upgrades will add to the value. Let us know what you plan to do with it. All tractors are not created equal. Good Luck

First off Welcome to GTtalk, glad you joined us here.

The Agway 16 is a re-badged MTD 990 and is a very capable GT for about anything from mowing to ground engagement work. They have a 16HP Briggs and a 2 speed Hydrostatic Trans axle. All of the powered attachments are drive shaft driven.

Does it run and how is the deck?

Yes, pictures would be great..

Yes, lets see what you have and go from there. Without seeing anything I would say make the trade but I'm sort of a tractor person. :smilewink:

Welcome. Pictures would be good, because you never know until you see it. From where I sit, I think the Agway would be worth it if it is a 990 by MTD. That remains to be seen by a picture. If it is, that's a good deal. Please post pictures.

Anyway, glad you joined and hope to hear more from you.

It's not hydrostatic but thats ok by me. We were tossing around the idea of purchasing a riding mower since we currently have a larger tractor to mow with being that we have 6 acres, but that is not very good at getting close to buildings or flower beds. I already have a 1960 something Allis Chalmers B. I love it but it has no mower deck. I'm turning into a garden tractor nut LOL! We are a tractor loving family!!!

I wasnt sure, the pic was alittle small. Our neighbors have a goat that gets out and climbs on top of their car. He hasnt tried to get on mine yet. I have heard that BBQ'd goat is pretty good.
