The first tractor that I owned, I still own. It's my 1994 Wheel Horse 314-8 that I got in 1996. It spent many a year as my daily driver for mowing. About 4 years ago it was retired from its mowing duties when I bought my first zero turn mower to cut down on the time spent keeping up with the chores. Since then it has been to many shows and is still used for hauling the trailers around, plowing, pulling etc...

Her's a pic of it a few years back.

Here's one from last year with it's winter clothes on.

The first tractor that I ever used was my fathers Craftsman GT6000, with an 18 HP twin Kohler. What a beast that machine is. He still has it and I have laid claim to it should he ever decide to get rid of it! I do not have any pics of it, but will have to get some.

Several guys still have the first one and so do I. I don't know the year, MTD Eight Hundred. My Mom bought it for us as a housewarming present from her brother-in-law when we bought an acre lot from her. It looked like this way back in 1980 when we got it! That's the same girl in both pics, my daughter.

Mine was my 1954 Pond. There is a unique story behind this tractor but I've had that story out there for many, many years and probably everyone has read it so I'll spare you the dialog. Still with me and will be as long as I can hang on to her.

I need to finish it this winter. I just got this weight to mount to the front. And it needs some tri ribs, fenders, hitch, belt guard and a heat shield, all of which I have, just need to get them pretty.

You must have washed that GT with hot water many times to make it shrink like that.

That's really a sharp tractor! I don't know the story behind it but maybe you could PM it to me. I love to hear these stories!

LOL! Thanks! Yeah it's amazing how much smaller the old mower got in 16 years. The pic when she was little was 1994 or 1995, and the "growed up" pic was last Christmas. She is about 6 foot tall now. I mowed with the MTD from 1980 till 2009.

Growing up we used a Penncraft rider, I think it was blue with white.

My first GT was a John Deere LX 17883-td3a.jpg
