If I think there is a reasonably good chance that the deck can be converted successfully than there will be a follow up. If it looks like there is going to be a bunch of fumbling around I'll probably hold off until it's nearing completion. No one wants to wants to watch a bumbling fool. :D
Thanks for you kind comments and following along. When the next project gets started I'll keep you updated if there is an interest.

It's going to be after Thanksgiving before anything else is going to happen around here. I'll be bringing home a Simplicity Sovereign with a blown engine and a good deck sometime next week and I have another in the hangar. Monday I get to have the finish work done on the root canal. New tractor, root canal, Thanksgiving, and finish the Bolens. Looks like a good week coming up. :dancingbanana:

Sorry for being so slow to reply to your inquiry some how I missed it. I plan to sell the engine. I'm starting to get quite a few and need to make room. The funds generated will go back into the purchase of more diesels. If you know of anyone looking for a very nice running 20hp. Kohler let me know. I'll be advertising it in the classifieds here before long.

This is probably a long forgotten subject but The final result came in so here are the photos. Grass decided to cooperate and start growing so the Bolens got put to work. I think the photos tell the story and now it's just some paint and the seat and it's complete.

Your pushing my abilities with the video. I may have to send it to you and get your help. I have not had much luck posting videos but I will try. It's still raining so today may not be the day.

That is a Simplicity deck under it and that is what the lawn was mowed with. It is very quiet using the APU exhaust.

I've had requests about the deck conversion The first photo is the deck in it's original configuration. The second shows it approaching completion. The two idler pulleys have not been added yet. When it was finished the blades were turning in the wrong direction so the discharge chute had to be swapped to the other side of the deck and the blades changed. Engineering wise this turned out to be one of the most difficult parts of the whole tractor conversion and to be honest I don't know if I would do it again. It is hard to beat these old Simplicity decks for making your yard look nice though.
