Help me out with that Type# and I will bounce it off my shop tomorrow. I cant quite make out the last few numbers. Let me have the tractor numbers too.

Type # 101417X, tractor model 917,255914? (this is the one I just bought, not sure of the model on the parts tractor.) It's type # is 105474X

My buddy said it is a Peerless trans and it will be very hard to find parts. He said there should be a number on the side of the casing in one of these two places

He said it should be on one side either close to the brake or the pulley. A small tag. Although the PO may have removed it.

There are no other #'s or anything on this transaxle. Only the tag.
I got the hubs off with no problem. The seal are out, awaiting the new ones. Not sure how the bearings come out, though.
Also took the brake apart as the lining wasn't stuck to the band anymore. I 'glued' it back on with JB Weld. I have taken a lot of parts off the frame that I will clean up, paint, and use when I go to work on the GT18. That will make that process go much faster. I'll have some pics later today!

As promised, here's some eye candy for you guys. First pic is the brake band glued back on. Next is the transaxle all prettied up. Then a couple of the other parts looking much better. Finally, we have the grille.

For some reason, the last pic shows the stripes more yellow than orange!

Close to original if at all possible. Spray can choices are minimal.

The trans is the same one that came in EVERY Sears Suburban 66-79. If you need parts, any of those will suffice

Still trying to figure out it's origins. Looks very close to the Peerless 1200, but the shift pattern is different and they are not a hi/lo trans.
I got some more parts painted yesterday. I'll have pics later on today!
