Guys, I'm going to be taking a LONG road trip starting next week sometime. We will probably leave Monday or Tuesday.

I'm going out to Iowa to pick up another Large Frame.

The trip will be from Cleveland, OH to Cincinnati, OH to Des Moines Ia. I may also be doing a bit of a side trip to the Omaha, Ne area as well.

The trailer that I will most likely be using will be a 6'x12' open, with drop down ramp.

I will be empty on the way out to Ia, and will have a Large Frame Bolens on it on the way back.

If anyone on that route needs something transported let me know.

You all can guess/speculate/argue over as to WHAT Large Frame it will be....but I'm going to keep mum on that until it's home. :D :D :D

I will give one hint and one hint only.

It's one that I don't currently have, and was never on my RADAR as one I would ever look for.

PS:
wilberj and LPBolens are disqualified, as I'm pretty sure that they know what it is :D :D :D

Enjoy your trip! I assume you will be coming down I80, so when you pass the 164 Exit at Newton give a little wave.
I checked the extended weather forecast and you might want to bring a jacket Highs will be mid 50' next week.

Actually, I'll be going I-71 South to Cincinnati, and then I-74 to Galesburg, which is just past Peoria, and then US 34 for most of the rest of the way.

I had been having private conversations with him from before he bought it, and pretty much had 'right of first refusal' if/when he decided to sell it.

Yes I forgot how far south Cincinnati is. I flew into Cinciannati on a business trip once and should have remembered.
Had a two hour layover and there are no bars on the south side of the airport because it is in a dry county in Kentucky.

I generally get pretty decent deals, and some REALLY GOOD deals. A lot of it is being lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, and some of it is being willing to travel to get something.

Take this trip for instance. If I swing down to Cincinnati to pick up #1 son, it's going to be a 1,650 mile round trip. If he elects to not go and I go straight out, it will still be about 1,350 mile round trip.

The wife LOVES road trips like this, and has never given me grief over buying a tractor or attachment. She's always been very accepting/supportive of my hobbies starting from when we first got married. Back then it was R/C Sailplanes, and we traveled all over the place for contests. Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida. We started just camping in a tent, then moved to a trailer, and finally a motor home.

With the tractors, it's been mostly over into PA. We have gone as far as Wilkes-Barre, and made one trip to just outside Baltimore MD. I gotta say that the trips to PA have been really nice mostly because of the great scenery.

I probably paid too much ($650.00) for the last G11, but it is a G11 after all, and did have a snowcaster, wheel weights, chains, and a mower deck with it.

I got this HDT1000 at a very good price. But the seller is making a decent profit on it, so I guess we are both happy with that.

I haven't been actively looking for another Large Frame, but this one just kind of 'dropped into my lap', and I would have been a fool not to buy it. Plus, it will be a nice tractor to put the Sweepster on :D

At this point, I'm pretty sure that I'm finished buying tractors for awhile. Well, unless an HT22 just happens to "drop out of the sky" :D:D:D:D
