Plow day at the Beacon Hotel in Renfrew, PA is coming up on November 10. Any of you western PA guys or points nearby that want to can come and plow. As I understand it, they will have a pulling sled there as well. Must be a member to participate because of insurance. This is a new group that has just formed so I hope we can give them a good boost.

There are a a few members from the western side of the state. Don't know how many might be going. I would love to go but have spent my traveling budget for the year. I hope they have a great turnout.

This is the same event that Ryan an I went to last year. The group was very friendly and relaxed. The dirt was a little hard, but we've had more rain this fall than last year. Oh, and the Beacon Inn has some pretty good food available. The hot food was appreciated on a cool November day.
I am still trying to finagle the day off, but am hopeful. Looking forward to it.

Alan, I'm hurt. I got onto the link you posted and looked at the pictures. The only one of me is taken so far away you can hardly see my devilish good looks. Probably a good thing. Just because it's a rice burner doesn't mean it can't have SOME respect. After all, didn't you know you would eventually know me? Sorry, couldn't resist! :peace:

Yes, as said in the other thread, the dirt is a little "firm". That's because we plow up the haunted corn maze so there are people running all over it for a month before we get to it. It's about a 15 acre field and they have a little more there if we polish that off. I didn't realize I even spoke to Alan until I met him for the first time "again" at Portersville this summer. Wish I had known then what I know now. Hope you can make it buddy.

By the way, I found some pictures that Larry Sipe sent me. I was sure I'd uploaded them, but I must not have. Sorry, year late.

That John Deere 430 in the pictures you posted is a sight to behold. That thing pulls a 2 bottom plow like a knife going through butter. Of course, I hear the tractor is "tweaked" a little and running 30hp or better. It's a beauty though!

As of this afternoon, I've have been given the green light for the tenth.

Now I either have to get another tractor ready or take the blower off the Sears...
Decisions, decisions. :D

Cool! Now if the weather just cooperates. They are talking about another big storm coming in right around that weekend. I've actually had my plow tractor loaded on the trailer for near a month now. If it's too nasty, I'll just leave it on the trailer for the winter (and the spring plow day!)

Even though we've never met in person, you will be missed.

The kids and I spent a good part of yesterday getting ready for this. As of now, all the snow removal gear is off and the tractors are on the trailer. Plows too.

Evenings this week are scheduled to be hectic, so we decided to get it all done while we had time. Only thing left is to pack appropriate weather cloths and trip snacks. Watching the forecast.

All loaded for plow day tomorrow. I'm taking the Satoh as always but I'm going to take the Wagner too and see what it can do. The Wagner came with a garden plow, mower deck and snow blade but I haven't done anything with it other than take it to a few shows. I'm interested in seeing what it can do (if anything). Guess we'll know tomorrow. Looks like fantastic weather!
