Went to the scrap yard and got the gt18 dug out. It is gear drive with high low and powered by opposed Briggs twin date of 1990. The engine is not stuck but is missing one spark plug. Lucky me the tractor survived stupidity. Here are some pics after the claw operator and I dug it out.

Need a front axle, Casey? I see the bracket I need, plus the plastic part off the end of the deck.

It is possible I could need a front axle, depends on the damage, I figure the front axle to be bent at a minimum. Those are the pics I took. Scrap yard closes at 4 pm and it took the operator and I at least a half hour to dig it out of the pile. I actually snapped the pics right before I left at 3:55 pm lol. I really haven't gotten a very good look at it yet, but will need to get my trailer out of the back yard and take it up there to recover the beastly GT18.

Are you sure there is a front axle under it? Hard to tell from the pics.

Ya, there is a front axle because the coffee can on the left side is jammed onto the spindle LOL.

Get it home and look it over. I'll try to look over mine in the meantime. Then we can talk trading out parts.

The head lights are actually spoken for, the Caterpillar gave me a funny look when I said "It looks just like you, except for the headlights" LOL.

I do have a set that I couldn't seem to figure out why they didn't fit the Cat so I will have extras.

Darn. When you get a chance, post a pic of one of these lights next to the others you have. Maybe we can figure them out. I have the wiring, but that's all.

Good for you Casey. That scrap yard seems to be a gold mine for all you find there.
