Lately, tools have been disappearing! It first started about a month, first it was a 9/16 ratchet wrench, then one of my punches, a 3/8 to 1/4 socket adapter, today I was mounting the tires for my trailer and noticed that I am missing an old spoon bar! The spoon bar is the worse thing that I "lost." It is from the 50s and I use it when mounting tires onto freshly painted wheels. It is very thin and smooth, reducing the amount of scratches I make. I know there are other things that have gone missing recently.

I don't know where everything went! Most of the stuff that went missing I never even used! And, I am one of those people who MUST put ALL of the tools away and sweep when I am finished working.

Sounds like it is time to put one of those game cameras in your shop and find out who or what is visiting you.

I agree with Chris, sounds like you need to set up a trail cam. Then, when you find out what's happening, you can still use it in the woods to see what's out there.

If someone was stealing the Items all your tools would be gone not just a few items. Sounds more like a friend or family member borrowing the tools and not bringing them back. I would say it is time for one of those camera's as well. HF has them fairly cheap.

A while back I read about a lady who's cat would steal underwear off clothes lines all around the neighborhood and bring them home. Maybe you should start checking out some of the neighbor ladies' pets and see what those little furry things are up to. I KNOW that's what I'd do!:D

I'm like you Ryan,I always put tools away when I'm done with them.I have even been known to to put things away before I'm done with them at times, then turn around and have to go get them again.I hope you find your missing stuff.

I would say it's a family member/friend, since only a few are missing. Good luck finding them!

My theory on missing tools is that they go out to explore the world. They wander around, sleeping in strange toolboxes and going to seedy bars full of lusty wrenches. They hitch rides under the hoods of shady automobiles.

Sometimes they come home, sometimes they never do.

Possibly its gnomes or gremlins out to have a bit of fun with you.I seem to have them visit once in a while just to play a trick or two on me and then leave. Otherwise a friend or neighbor who has access to your shop. The trail cam idea should catch the culprit. Good luck in finding out who done it and where your tools have wondered off to.

Ryan, don't you have a younger brother? Perhaps he and his friends are into fixing things now.

I feel your pain, Ryan313. Here is what I woke up to yesterday. Turned out to be a couple of teens looking for pocket change. Cops have them now.
