Having some issues with the bolens, my belt keeps slipping and falling off when put into gear, belt is not worn and correct size, i assume it has something to do with tension but i have no clue how to adjust it, any help is greatly appreciated! thanks, ryan.

Do you have the proper size idler pulley and tension spring on it?
The idler can be moved in the front hole to increase belt tension...
Can you take some pics of your tractor's pulley system?

Should be a 35'' belt not 25'' but I'm assuming that was a typo..

If its grinding you most likely need to adjust or replace your brake pads

don't understand the 25" belt neither Doc , mixbreed you get the shaft to stop before you change gears it will proably stop the grinding , don't let this go it could get real serious if you keep trying to change them while they're grinding hope this helped Doc will steer you the way. in Christ bobby

25'' was a typo, belt is a 1/2'' x 35'' as for the brake pads, where can i go about buying some? and when pushing the pedal in to apply the brakes they dont move, but do when i use the parking brake.

You should be able to get brake pads here:
http://bobsgardentractors.com/

He has a LOT of "Bolens goodies".
