Couple of questions on the S8D

Second, the carb definitely needs help. I remember surfing around and finding a place that has re-built carbs for the S8D, and don't remember where it is now. Does anyone know what site I'm talking about?

As for the carb, not familiar with that model but try to clean it best you can.

You will have to take the nut off the flywheel then use a puller to get it off.
If the spark plug wire is comming from behind the flywheel its a magneto. More than likely the ends are just rusty and need cleaning.

Yep, that's what I have. I'm hoping I won't have to remove the flywheel. The spark appears to be OK. I'll wait until after I rebuild or replace the carb
I just ordered 2 carb rebuild kits from NAPA. Since I've never rebuilt a carb before, I figured I stand a good chance of boogering it up the fitst time
If all else fails, the rebuilt carbs from tubeframe.com are a possibility.
