What colors were used on sears gts back in the 70s? I dont think I want to paint the st10 gold and cream and I hate the J.D. colors it's got.

One of our members has a restored ST10. Pictures can be seen on this page of the gallery.

I think the "proper" names for your colors were "Aztec Gold" and "Bamboo Tan"

Bamboo tan is (close-ish) to IH White IMHO. Not a perfect match, but it beats green.

The gold is a different matter. No one is perfectly positive in their color match, and the general consensus is to find some good matchable paint under a bolt or between the fender and frame
OR
One of the Cat yellow colors is pretty close at a distance. They're a little to yellow from the original, but it's " better than green"

I saw one reference to a color called "Harvest Gold" available from automotive paint suppliers that's supposed to be closer.

Well, the earlier models were mainly blue/white or orange/white or red/white, depending on model.

Im in the process of restoring my '72 ST12 which will be blue/white. I did my '68 8XL Custom Sears in Allis Chalmers orange with white and then black rims. Now when i say restore, i keep all parts and decals original but as far as paint scheme.....i do whats appealing to "me" because ultimately the end result needs to be what i like since i dont really sell anything. Just an idea.....
