Trav, that's the problem im struggling with, in all the photos of the 110 restored and original the Nelson ''cripmed end'' ones are there right up until this posting http://www.google.co...395450225990784

When i google the number AM30280 and look on JD's main site the muffler i see is different, below are the pictures :

If you read the posting on the fourm i linked in you will see the problem with the number AM30280.

Hapco makes a muffler that is supposed to be correct, have Y'all checked there?

If anyone is interested in this tractor send me a message as I am seriously considering selling it.  I have a fair amount of additional stuff to go with it.  Nothing major but life happens.  It is currently stored inside just west of Cedar Rapids.

Time, money, and some other surprises in my life.  If it does not sell I will store it until life allows me to get to it.

While the plan is to sell this one (unless I can get dad to take it for a project), I going to bring it to my place and see if I can get it running -which I hope will make it more appealing to someone.

Got the 110 home tonight and I am going to try to get it running for now. I still want to go thru it but if someone wants it when it is running then I will sell it. The real reason for selling is this: My wife is pregnant and this is a surprise to us.

Did some work on the 110 today

  • removed fender pan
  • power washed good
  • removed trashed wiring harness
  • changed oil
  • picked up points, rebuild kit for the Carter N carb to replace the walbro (thank lyall!), and ordered a headgasket

Transaxle feels good and shifts through the gears easily with little slop.

Looking for a wiring diagram for this and hope to get a new wiring harness ordered.

Looked the 110 over a bit more today and I am pretty sure that the transaxle was rebuilt at one time AND it was short blocked at some time in its life.  There is very little ridge at the top of the bore.  I installed new points then rebuilt and installed the Carter carb from lyall.  I hit the transaxle with the power washer again but there is some crusty stuff that refuses to come off.

Wonder what a custom color tractor would look like with a pink hood and seat?!?  :watch_over_fence:

Did a bit more work yesterday including lapping and installing an extra head as well as getting the air cleaner base installed.

Pulled the old steering wheel (sunbaked and cracked) as well as the flywheel.  Now I can get to the magneto and work on the wiring harness.
