I'm helping out at a family auction and they have two riding mowers. One is a Grass Cat made by Artic and the other is a very old Craftsman. The model is 917-8400 and I'm guessin it was made around the late 50's or early 60's. Each has the original deck with the Craftsman being made of cast aluminum. Neither runs but they seem to have good compression. I don't think they would take all that much to get started. The auction is today so I'm wondering if either is worth much. I wish I had a camera with to show them. It looks like they've both been kept inside all the time.

The tractors have sold. The grass cat went for $60 and the old craftsman went for $55. I bid up the craftsman that far but the wife would not have been happy if I'd paid any more so I quit and you know how important it is to keep momma happy!
