Need Help With An Original

I just picked up a true Cub Cadet Original, as its from 1960. Its a beater, and will need paint and decals, but it runs as tough as it did new. However, the shift lever pin is missing. You can still shift, however the gear lever spins 360, its not supposed to. Is it just a roll pin i can stick in it, or is it a specific part? Thanks.

I think it's just a roll pin, but it needs to be a good hardened one.

Sorry can't help you on that,I have never had the shifter out of mine.

Just a while back I posted a pic of a shifter breakdown. I don't think they changed too much. Here is the link to a Parts Manual.
