I went to a local auction today to see about a 345,what I found was a little rough to say the least. The hood and lower plastic was busted, torn seat,it had the wrong type battery, and was non running,I figured I'd take a chance and go $600 boy was I off this thing wound up bringing $1000! So tell me what would you have bid in similar circumstances? I went to $650 and to me that was to high.

If you're out of touch, I'm right there with you. Seems about twice what it was worth.

The auction frenzy. But I'm with you, it sold for a lot more then I would have paid for it.

Haven't been to auctions recently but the local prices seem way higher than they should. At least for what I think they are worth.

Literally anything can happen at an auction. I'm with you all, I'm thinking about 1/2 that would have been it for me, and that's only if the sun was shining and I still had a town job !!

A 345 is a largely sought after GT. A good one can bring up to $3200 US. Somebody certainly wanted it. The prices have seem to be skyrocketing on this era of mowers at auctions. I will have to consult my auction guy to see what he says about them.

If non running, I'd be hard pressed to even go to $500. Running, even roughly would raise that quite a bit. But not to even hear it hit a lick....

I have spend 4+ hours on a borrowed 345 helping mow at a friends winery. They are VERY nice machines. The foot controls are awesome and ergonomics are great. The price seems high to me too.

Green fever I think. Sounds a bit high but it depends on how much is actually wrong with it. It could be something cheap that is the problem and there may have been locals in the audience who know the tractor.

It would turn over fine and from the sound had decent compression just wouldn't fire. The owners son said earlier this year it had been to the shop and was supposedly fixed,at first it would run 10 to 15 minutes then stall, eventually it got to where it wouldn't start at all.I've known him for some time and he's an upstanding guy so I doubt anything major was wrong, but if it don't run it don't run!

I have noticed its real hard to find a John Deere cheap. 200 and 300 Series especially. I have always wanted a 318 but have not yet pulled the trigger. I was at a auction today and bought a 216.It was a package-snowblower, tiller and deck. I paid $1250. 216 003.JPG

But based on what new ones are going for, they should be worth something.
