Just picked up the paint at the hardware store, and talk about a perfect match!

Finally got the hood painted and put back on. I did the lettering with a paint pen. Not a show quality paint job but, plenty good for stirring up dust in the garden. New tires were mounted. A rope pulley start and a Briggs air filter on the 5 HP Tecumseh allows the hood to fit.

I have tried to do lettering with a very small brush with varying success...my hand is not as steady as once was. What is a paint pen ?

It's like a magic marker but, contains paint. It has a rattle ball in like a paint can and you have to shake it to mix the paint. The tip is felt, similar to a magic marker. I borrowed the one I used. If Walmart or Staples does not have them check an art supply store.

Did you get the same red and green that I used?

Yes I did, and when I held the can tops up to the tractor & wheels they were almost a perfect match. Thanks again!

Here's a photo of a new 5756 taken in 1950. This came from the DB site. The paint is pretty close. When I painted my wheels I taped over a spot on the inside of the wheel for comparison. You'd probably have to have a paint code to get any closer.
