I thought I would get out my telephoto lens and take some comparison pics. The camera is an older Toshiba PDR-M65, 3.3 Mega pixel, 3X optical, 2X Digital Zoom. The telephoto lens is a Tiffen MegaPlus,43mm, 2X converter.
The first pic is normal camera, no zoom. 2nd is just camera zoom. 3rd is telephoto lens, no zoom. Last pic is telephoto with zoom. These were all taken from the same spot.

The black outline makes for some cool pics. Here's one I did of an Olds Cutlas my son used to have.

Kenny it would be interesting to compare 2 identical shots, one with digital zoom and the other with optical to see which is better. You can see how the optical zoom is restricting the angle of light entering the lense and resulting in more saturated colours.

That is all beyond me. I don't know how to switch from optical to digital on it. I just take pics. I do know I can crop a pic and it will zoom without distortion. But that is the puter program. I bought this sometime around 1990-2, can't remember for sure. Just saw it was Toshiba and knew it would be good. The memory card I have in it will let me take 207 pics.

I'd say your camera works ok. Glad you got it out. Are you going to see Fifi too? Take lots of pics for those of us who can't be there.

That lens makes the pictures much more clear! You just have to make sure to use it when you do something!

After seeing it through the new lens, I have changed my mind. The uprights should of been black.

Too Late! It's done now! And I like it this way! So there!

After looking at the pics again, I can see I need to clean the lens. 3rd pic, just above the the LF tire is a spec of something.

I was hoping to catch a pic of FiFi taking off or landing, depending on which way the wind is blowing.

I like your peep hole shots. For some applications that feature would really be neat.
