Well these girls weren't to accurate, I may have to take out the whole block just to get the house next door.

Here's hoping for the video Pat. One of the old Steam engines was in LR a while back and just like always, I had to miss it.

I was doing some reading and the HE-111 that I toured crashed a few years ago. it had an engine failure and the pilot crashed it into a building to keep it out of a neighborhood. Both crew died and the plane was a loss.

Well didn't get to fly, but here are the pictures.

There was one gentleman there that went on 29 missions over Japan in a B29. he had some good stories. And yesterday there was a Japanese lady that was 4 years old in Hiroshima in Aug 1945.

They both had some good stories to tell.

There was also a C45 and a P51 there as well.

The last of them.

I wanted to shoot video of the takeoff and landing, but the shy was overcast and the flights were canceled until the next morning.

Pat, those are great! So glad you got a chance to see it in person.

Pretty obvious they werent built for amenities, just for hauling "Cargo" .

I couldn't help think about flying missions over Toyoko. Open the doors, drop a load and hope you make it back.

Probably 30 years ago I was talking to a man that was on a B17 during the war, he told me he made 15 1/2 missions. On the last one he had to bale out over Germany and spent the rest of the war in a camp.

Awesome photos, thanks for sharing. It helps to remember what the man and women of that time did to give us the freedoms we seem to be not very appreciative of and seem to be giving up with little thought nowadays,,,
