The worlds only flying B29 will be in Tulsa this weekend. At the Tulsa Air And Space Museum.

I AM going Video to follow. This may be a once in a lifetime event, it's the sole surviving B-29 in the world still in flying condition.

I'll be looking for the vid. Man I'd love to take a tour of that airplane. I love watching Ice Pilots and seeing those old birds fly.

There are only 2 B-24's still still flying I was able to see one of those a few years go. We built over 18,000 B-24's and this one was something like the 38'th one built. These planes are priceless!!!

It should be a great time for you. It's a really cool thing to be able to see it. I hope you get great video. It's sure one I'd like to see.

I've seen Sentimental Journey myself, the thing that gets me, is these aircraft are crude by today's standard. No fancy padding, no heat, no pressurized cab, (well the B-29 does), the guys that flew these things were real men. I couldn't imagine being 20,000 feet Germany dropping bombs, with all those ME109's shooting at me. They truly were the greatest generation.

EDIT: the plane named Sentimental Journey I saw was a B-17, but WIKI has it listed as a B-29.

When I looked at the Sentimental Journey I was dumbfounded at how small the bottom turret was. I cannot imagine the sheer balls it took to sit in that thing hanging out there shooting at the enemy.

It is great that you are going to get to see a piece of history. Can't wait to see the video. I have never seen any of the old planes up close.

I just love these old war birds. As fas as taking a ride I imagine a ticket is probably a couple of hundred bucks, s I will have to stay on the ground.

The ticket prices depend on the seat location. They range from $600 to $1500 for the B-29, less for the B-24.

Good to see the old girl is still flying about. Guess I should get out the telephoto lens. End of the runway is only 1/4 mile away.

$1500 for a ride in the bombardier position, maybe I can talk to the bank. Maybe I can drop a few bombs while I'm there.
