There is a John Deer 647 tiller listed on Craiglist for $1,625(it's in my town) that in the pictures looks to be in good shape. Is that a pretty fair price? I have no idea what it sells for new, but know enough about green paint to suspect it sells ne for quite a high price.
The add said it was on a 425 JD originally, but since JD lists it as fitting up to a 4000 series Compact, I think it might match up to my Ford 1500.

New, they sell for $2,200 - $2,400.

If it came off from a 425, you might have to switch out the lift pins, if it was cat 0. Available at any TSC type store.

That is probablty not a bad price then. I talked to the Thiesen store in town(farm Supply and can get a new king kutterr for 1400.
It is supose to be for a sub cut. I suspect it would work ok?

The King Kutter would work just fine, also. I personally don't see the need to spend extra for the JD. Tillers don't see a whole lot of use.

I don't either, besides the green paint might clash with the Ford Blue? I think i'll put the order in for the King Kutter tomorrow morning. I have 9 acres that needs to be reseeded but will probably just do an acre or so per year till it's done.
Besides the Big(Ever Growing in size )Garden.
