I promised to post a couple of Photos of my JD 318. I had the engine out, because I thought I'd have to change the starter, but then I find out its just the solenoid not getting enough voltage. I've since installed a relay to remedy that problem. The mower deck will be reconditioned this winter along with building a mini loader similar to the Buford loader for the 318.

Nice solid looking 318. The Allis is nice but probably not as nice to mow with.

Actually the Allis does a better job on the lawn then the JD does. The JD mower needs all new bearings and a idler, I put new blades on it but it still misses a little tuft of grass between the blades.

but it still misses a little tuft of grass between the blades.

My Kubota decks do that once in awhile also. Something I don't every recall the older Simplicity or Allis decks doing.
