After reading Ray's post about redoing his crawler I decided it was time to kick it in the hind end and repaint the Dexta. For some reason I have become very attached to this tractor and when someone posted on here that TSC was closing out some of their implement paints a 50% off I picked up some paint for the Dexta. I'm not going to repaint it in the original colors of empire blue and mud grey.

I much prefer the color scheme used on the Ford 2000's. Ford blue and grey so that's what it's going to be.

Below are photos of one days progress. It has been sprayed with degreaser and pressure washed twice. The last step on Monday morning will be a final rinse with mineral spirits and them paint in the afternoon. We have a two day window of warm weather next week so I'm being pushed.

Ray I was going to post on your topic and show you what kind of trouble you stirred up but decided that would be too close to hijacking the thread. Glad you caught this.

Tomorrow I start on the wheels and then this pile. I need to get it mobile again so I can get it under cover.

Finally took the finished tractor out today and got it dirty using the digger. I'm not real please with the way the Valspar paint turned out. Was glossy for a couple of days and now has started to dull. Have to keep telling myself that it is just a tractor. It actually too almost three times as long to repair and prep the sheet metal as it did to prep the rest of the tractor. The cowl and been damaged badly and the bottom had a large piece missing where a pump had been installed. Don't know how many holes I had to fill in the fenders. I think it will be a while before I do another tractor.

This is the finished product.
