Get the numbers off the engine itself and then call Sears. I checked with them last year, and though I never bought a carb, they still have them. Good luck.

The original engine from my SS12 says 143.582142
Sears does show the carb, but it's discontinued NLA on their site.
They show a part number 631251A tho and that (according to google) crosses to a 631533 carb

Please verify using your model number.

Another thought is to contact our Site Sponsors. I know two of them have some Sears in the yard and probably all of them have some way of ordering the correct carb for your engine.

i've seen the odd Walbro LME carb, NOS, on Ebay, for 60-80 bucks. I bought one last
spring, and keep it as a spare.
