Im just curious. Were there 3 engine variations on the Original?

1. Pull start with a magneto

2. Electric start with a magneto

3. Electric start with a coil ignition

If so, was there some type of identifcation on the engine to indicate how it was when it left the factory?

I have one with the coil ignition. A friend has one with a starter generator but it does not have a coil.

Thanks.

There was only two variations I believe. Electric start with a coil and recoil start with a mag. The tag on the engine would say k161S for electric start and k161T for a recoil start. Somebody probably modified it from a pull start to an electric start at one time or another.

That is what I was thinking too.
