Was thinking I would get some work done on the site tonight and I guess mother nature figured otherwise. We lost our cable and internet from the storm that went through. Hopefully we will get it back. I can only handle browsing with the phone for a little bit.

Some day we're going to be able to dock our phone into our keyboards and monitors and it will be our only device. It's not far away.

I'd like to thank George for living west of me in PA and buffering out some of the destruction of that storm! We had a nice little 40mph breeze, a little 1" of hard rain... and no outages of any kind. (This time!) I see the Tornado Fairy has discovered NYC! Good for her, she can pick on some slickers for a change and leave us simple country folk alone for once!:D

George, hope you get service back on soon. Though this may give you some time to interact with the GT's.

My one and only trip to NYC was not a good one, being from the mid-west, I was going through "culture shock". I was an 18 yo kid and had never really been a City before.

Was hoping to wake up this morning and have cable back but it didn't happen. Cable is still out. Thankfully we didn't loose power with this storm. We are going to work on closing the pool today and maybe get lucky and have cable back by this afternoon.

Hope it's back on soon! As far as being in NYC, closest I have been is Passaic, N.J. That was close enough for me!

New York City... Boston... Cleveland... Detroit... Salt Lake City... Denver... All the same (expletive deleted), how could they be anything else, their cities!

Re. "No Power", I had to laugh at Wifey a few years ago during an extended winter power failure. We were the only one's with a generator (mostly for sump security) and it was keeping us in cold food, microwave, lights, flush toilet, woodstove fan, you know all the civilized stuff we all have come to appreciate (need!). The cable was still working via the genny and we were watching TV by the cozy woodstove and she says, "The whole area is dark and we're watching CABLE! This is positively 'decadent'!" I told her to be darn thankful she married a "country boy"! :D
