I really hope he doesn't part this thing out. Someone out there has to know the story behind it. Even if it is just an AC in Oliver dress, it appears as though it was done in its infancy. Any opinions?

If you look at the closeup pictures of the decals on the sides of the hoods, it looks like the "OLIVER" part is a cut out of another sticker that was put over the Allis sticker.

As far as I know, Oliver never approached A/C on any kind of GT deal, but I have been wrong before.

Well, and back then... wouldn't it say Made By Simplicity or something if it was a real Oliver, as that's who was making them for Allis?

I know that the Home Lite stuff says Home Lite on the ID tags, just as A/C has A/C ID tags.

Dad and his friends were very big in the A/C stuff back in the 60's and would have heard something about it.

I have no doubt it is an Oliver. As I recall as Texas Deer & Horse said both the Ac and The Oliver were built by Simplicity.
I would not mind having an oliver but would prefer one of the Green & white ones.

Everything I've seen says Oliver was built by Jacobson and their green ones follow the styling and share parts. But, could they have been dabbling in the GT market a little earlier to possibly establish a manufacturer such as Simplicity?

As far as I know Simplicity made Gt's for A/C, since A/C owned them, Home Lite, and for a while Montgomery Wards. Oliver's were built by Jacobsen until MTD made the White Gt's. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That is what I thought as well.My guess is that someone just "Olivered" up an AC.
