Are the 'mule drive' pulleys turning free? Was this a Kevlar/similar type belt?

They seemed to be. Not sure. It came with the tractor, he had just never put it on. It had a greenish color to it.

Was it a Cub belt or aftermarket?

I'm assuming it is a Gate's belt, based on my research.

I would try an OEM Cub belt, I tried a NAPA belt and it lasted maybe 30 minutes. I believe CC measures there belts differently.
