OK, got a little time today and guess what I discovered???
My memory is as faulty as can be.

I DON"T have a slant engine, I have an upright engine.
Model # on the tractor is 917.5752
Series # 257.
stamping on the now unreadable tag are

306255 1166627

008 015

Now, what do I have?
(I can't believe I goofed like that, sorry guys.)

Al's Hiemers kicking in there Alan? Don't remember what the engine looks like on that thing? I think you have a 2 wheeler that runs too fast for the sickle bar cutter. How's that? :bigrofl:

I don't think it's a model 8, mine has a rod running up the side of the motor with a spring on top of it.

I like the tires on it. I think it is a model 6 or N now that I see it. The 8 has straight sides on the shroud (had one in my hand today).

I found this neat PDF online about the "N" models. Is this helpful at all?

Just wondering, is there a date when they made the switch? Or a serial #?

How about the intake/exhaust specs? Where both models 8 & 15 thous?
