I'm thinking about putting dual stacks on my 317. Was just wondering if anyone else has pictures or advice. I've never put anything but stock mufflers on so I didn't know any tricks thanks

Just keep in mind your 317 needs back pressure to run properly..

Wouldn't that change that smooooth boxer twin sound. It's very different from a V twin's sound and much more pleasent IMO.

Boxers sound yucky with twin stacks in my opinion, they sound Like 2 singles running together, now a well done header on a vtwinyeah buddy! Sounds like v 8 :) specially when it revs to 5000 rpm :)

This is an opposed 18.5 Briggs. I don't think it sounds bad, but it's louder than I wanted. I had the International 1468 tractor in mind when I did it and I only did it to see if I could. I had to remove it to open a ditch up in the woods behind my house or else I'd get some close up photo's for you.

Not related to your question, but the duals I just installed on my X500 sound fantastic. Isn't your 317 a V-twin Kohler? If you work around trees much, I would reconsider stacks for the obvious reasons. It's your tractor, your project. Good luck. and we want pictures and video when your done!

Yes it's a v-twin I decided to just leave it alone for now. And keep working on my 140
