Here are some of the massey garden tractors i picked up.

This one is a 12 hydro w/hyd cylinder to raise and lower snow plow.it has the 12v hydro pump mounted on fender. It is far from pretty It has a 16 h.p. kohler in it.They moved the grill front and mounted it to the bumper. It also had a complete sleeve hitch on it.I bought it at the dover consignment auction last week end.Well worth the $100 i paid for it.

The next one i got at another public auction. It is a 67 10.It does run needs battery.I paid $170 for this one.Seet is not original. It was repainted a few years back. The grey is a little off.The beads on the front wheels need cleaned up.Tires leak at the beed. Not a bad looking tractor. They also had a tiller at the sale that sold seperatly for this tractor.I also got that.

This last one is the odd ball. This one is my dads.It is a 12 hydro w/hyd lift.I didn't think massey had that as an option but the guy selling it insisted they did.He said they didn't make that many. After checking it out i found the pump mounting looks like it could be factory but the rest doesn't.There was some poor weld jobs done on the brackets under left foot rest to hold cables and hoses. The lift lever was a poor job also.We are going to restore it like this but do the necessary fab work to the brackets and lift handle to make it look more original.massey 004.JPG massey 005.JPG massey 006.JPG

Nice score! There has been some mention of the massey 12 tractors having a hydraulic lift option, and there was a knock out plate that is in about the same place yours is. Try searching this forum and see if something pops up. Poor welds could be someone overstressed it and broke the original welds.

Wow, getting quite a bit of RED around there. Good looking herd!

As for the Power Lift option, the handle seems to have been the weak spot, IDT there were many that didnt get a weld job over the last 40 years. It is a rarity and the pump (I assume it's the one behind the grill) is a shoe-horn fit.

BTW, Do yourself a favor & make sure that pulley that drives it isn't sloping around. (Darned things needed one more set screw) Do what you must to save it, as I couldn't find a replacement for mine, but was able to save it with a little creative adaptation.

Looking good, and some attachments to go with them, I never seen a 16hp Kohler on a MF12hydra before.

Those are some nice Masseys! The 12 with the K341 in it has potential. That took some work to fit that in there and if you did some proper body work on the hood extension it would look really nice as a custom! That 16 will give you some extra power to run your mower or what have you.

Pretty nice scores there. That power lift on the 12 is a bit of a treasure. It'll be nice to see that one all
restored to original. Agcopartsbook shows some details of the option.

With a bit of fix up, that one with the K341, could be alot better lookin, and a great work horse.
Good buys.
