I'm a little late posting this, but I managed to get a few free Bolens items at the Erie county fair last week!
The first one is a Brinly dump attachment from a former Bolens dealer. He was a very nice guy to talk to. We talked for a while about Bolens and what he sold back in the 60's at the dealership. He didnt have any other parts as the guy that bought out his business scrapped all the NOS stuff :(

The other item I will be picking up tomorrow from a different guy I met.
Its nothing out of the ordinary but I'm keeping it a surprise for now, it does have an engine and wheels :D

I also got the restored Bolens all washed, waxed and put away for the next show.

Looking good!!! What's the next show you're bringing her to? Did you ever fix the engine problems you were having and find the correct recoil starter housing for it?

I may bring a couple down to the Alexander show in September. It depends on the weather though. If it rains I probably wont bring them.

I'm still working on it. I forgot to mention I am also getting a duplicate clinton engine with a working recoil for free as well! I just need to pick it up when I get a chance.
This has been a good year for me. I basically got everything for free this year!! :dancingbanana:

Nothing wrong with that!!! Where can I pick up your good luck from? Seems like I always have to pay a PREMIUM for anything I get!!

Doc,that's a fine looking piece, looks to have survived well. Is there something else that can be swapped onto that tongue, as there seems to be a pin to enable removal of the tub :confuse:

I dont think anything else was made to go onto the mounting frame.
You are correct that if you pull the pin you can remove the tub.

Those dump cart is a nice find. Brinly made some nice attachments back in those days. I would imagine you'd have to watch that in tight spaces or you'd be likely to hit something with it sticking way out behind you.

Last thing that Bolens workers did at the old factory when Bolens was sold to garden way in 1987 was to scrap all the old stuff still left. I know the workers did not like doing it.

Doc another Brinly dump attachment you lucky dog!

oh darn, You are a lucky Dog!! I never would of thought that having tractors in a show would get you more connections than you already have, but it does make sense.Glad you had a good time at the fair! Did you have to kill anyone for climbing on your machines??LOL! Cant wait to see the free item you got that has wheels! I'll be waiting for some pictures

I think this was the first time I didnt find any foot prints on them when I went to look at them/ pick them up.
There were a few close calls where kids went under the chain link fence but didn't go on. I probably would have had a heart attack if one would have climbed on the Green brier and scratched the paint!

Well next year I vote for electric fencing around your machines! Them kids will definetly stay away. Maybe even just a sign on your current plastic chain that says "Caution Electric fence." It would be neat to see how many people stay off and away from chain just because of the sign.
