They are opening the 100 year old package today at noon est.

Here is a link to the smithsonian page with all the details: http://blogs.smithso...ts-not-a-troll/

Here is a link to the live feed for when they open the package: http://www.vgtv.no/#!id=55544

I think it is really interesting the fact that the package has never been opened and almost lost and thrown away over the years. I am anxious to see what is in there.

I think it is going to be a biography or diary of sorts. It is a fairly large package and it weighs 7 lbs.

By the size of the package, I'd guess that it's a sales brochure for a vacation timeshare with a VHS video tape.

I am guessing current info from that period....along with a letter "guessing/predicting" what the world will look like in 100 years......and if that is wrong.....then maybe the airing of his personal sins----cheating on his wife, stealing the towns money, lieing about how big the fish he caught, etc--- that way he died in peace knowing he had confided in someone else to share his guilt. :laughingteeth:

Interesting to see what it really is......thanks for sharing.....will definitely check it out later today to see what it was.

It was Aunt Maybelle sending a care package to cousin Jimmy. Some vitlins, pickled peaches, and the dessicated remains of an apple.

If a guy walked up to you and gives you a package with instructions not to open it for a hundred years, what would youy do? Really!
I'm afraid I would think he was a nut or it was all a joke.

Now you got me interested. 6:00 pm, huh.
Could be a prank. Snakes in a can, whoopie cushion, etc.

It has already been opened. It was supposed to be opened at 6pm their time which I think was in Denmark. Puts it around lunch time on the east coast.

I think they are supposed to do a summary and more details later on in the day as far as what was in it.

Dean, snakes in a can would be a great prank 100 years from now.

The suspense isn't killing be, but if anyone has any information on what was in the package............
