Wow, that thing is crazy! It's in really nice shape. You can really see just how BIG it is in relation to the houses in the photos. I imagine that is one huge sucker of a tractor! Yeah, I can see now with the mower deck on it how it wouldn't really work too well with the bat wings up; the belts would just slip and not mow well on an upward incline. Sounds like this guy put a lot of work into this GK and/or just has taken very good care of it. I wish I had more $$$ and that the guy selling this lived closer than Indiana to me!! :( Oh well... I guess I don't really NEED a GK for what I'm doing right now anyways... but definitely could make a nice addition in the future if things take off at all or anything! :smilewink: lol...

My dad ended up purchashing the GK. Its been his dream for a while to show the articulating trifecta, lawn keeper, estate keeper, Grounds Keeper. His father, my papa, owned a bolens dealership in mid missouri. He has mowed with the same estate keeper since it was new, and still uses it every once in a while. My father said they never sold any GK's but they did have one on demo for a few weeks. The 6' mower decks make quick work of the intown lawns. Hes got the lawn keeper on the bench right now torn apart and will be repainting the tins and frame this fall. Hope to run them in a couple of parades and tractor shows. If anyone is around the Quad City area (davenport iowa). give me a shout. Now to talk him into a cab...

Well Dad and Mom made the trip from Moline to Fort Wayne and back earlier this week to pick up the GK, Borrowed the neighbors 86inch x 12 foot utility trailer and dragged it with a 4cyl tacoma truck. The GK fit on the trailer fine with a Gross trailer weight of around 3000 lbs. The truck pulled it fine and the route they picked had very little interstate so most of the time was spent going 55 in drive not OD. Loaded he averaged 17 mpg. FridayI met them at thier house to help unload. Unstrapped the machine and it fired right up. This thing is BIG. Played around with it out in the street a bit and then mowed the back yard with it. Its pretty awesome to mow with 72 inch deck and swing right around the trunks of the big oaks. The floatation tires make the ride smooth, and push the mole tunnels down good. After mowing the back yard I shut it off. When trying to restart the starter bendix wouldnt work properly. It was getting dark so we let it sit and worked on it Saturday morning. Got it the starter working better and mowed a neighborhood well lot with it Sat morning. We then went out to geneseo Il to check out the 51st anual antique tractor and working farm show. Next year we are bringing the GK, EK, LK and a G14 to the show. Plus they have GT plowing plot!

Oh!, or video is even better IMO, but that's just me. I know for some of these old timers pics are just fine, but us young kids like YouTube vids, ya know... :smilewink:
