I am not sure if I will get a Bolens or something else. I do like the hyrostatic drive and the flexability it offers and I love old stuff because it is built so well. My boat has a 1956 10hp Johnson that sat for 20 years and now is a smooth running engine that I have a total of under $200.00 in to. Like the tractor stuff out there, go ahead and price a new unit and it makes the choice easy. That and the fact I love to fix up stuff. Keeps me busy and happy. I will get my son to sign up for GTtalk so he can also get the fever.

Like you say, oldies are the goodies. My boat's a '65 Alpex trihull, came with a J seahorse 40, I upped to Merc 50. Thinkin about selling or trading as the two newtome Bolens are hinting for a shed (in the boats spot) and/or enclosed trailer. But I have to admit, I've never tried fishin off a tractor, so we'll see. ;)
